A Week to Celebrate the Beauty of Gardens
This annual event spans an entire week and showcases everything that makes Virginia’s gardens special, with 48 member clubs participating in organizing various tours throughout the state. But it’s Williamsburg this time that promises a feast for the senses with its unique blend of colonial charm and lush landscapes.
Tour the Beautiful Grounds of Colonial Williamsburg
Guests will have the rare opportunity to explore three private properties that seldom open their doors to the public. Plus, four public gardens will be tended by knowledgeable horticultural professionals who are eager to share insights and gardening tips.
Discover Historic Homes and Lush Gardens
The walking tour will highlight four enchanting private homes located in the picturesque neighborhoods of Indian Springs and Burns Lane, dating all the way back from the late 1700s to the 1950s. Each home promises its own unique flair, complete with stunning floral arrangements thoughtfully crafted by members of the Garden Club of Virginia.
Don’t forget to experience the two exceptional private gardens included in the tour: one features a sprawling woodland garden filled with boxwoods and meandering paths, perfect for those who enjoy wandering through nature. The other showcases a cozy backyard garden that not only bursts with colorful flowers but also produces delicious vegetables.
A Full Day of Exploration Awaits
With a total of 13 sites to explore, including the famous Belle Farm House, guests will have a day chock-full of opportunities to soak up the beauty around them. The Belle Farm House is notable for its rich history, having originally been built in 1775 in Gloucester and relocated to Williamsburg in 1928. It underwent reconstruction in 1952, making it a treasure worth seeing!
